The Sports Commission is our community’s clearinghouse and first point of contact for sports and sports-related activities and is committed to developing the region’s sports product.

World Cup Bid

Orlando is one of 27 cities being considered to host the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup. Though the games seem far away, we need your help NOW!

We need to show our community's support for the World Cup and help demonstrate to US Soccer why the World Cup should return to Orlando. Click the image above to sign the petition.

Road to Orlando

The Central Florida Sports Commission, the City of Orlando, Edgewater High School and Orange County Public Schools will serve as co-hosts for the 2009 FHSAA Football Finals. In this event’s third year in Orlando, we hope to eclipse Orlando's 2007 mark of more than 55,752 spectators (the second largest crowd in FHSAA history) and break the FHSAA record. The four-day event consists of eight state championship games to be played at the Florida Citrus Bowl. It is held over two weekends, with two games played on Friday and two games played on Saturday of both weekends. The dates for the 2009 football finals are Dec. 11, 12, 18 and 19.
